Carlisle-based Human Resources manager Ruth Pilkington was celebrating yesterday after her 42,000th consecutive post on X failed to attract a single comment or indication that anyone had read it.
The message – "Great to see everyone at today's B2B HR seminar in Penrith" – was posted at 1.48PM to her three followers, none of whom responded.
Cracking open the bubbly at her single bedroomed flat in Currock, Ruth, 26, said: “This is a real milestone for me. Of course it can be disappointing when nobody pays any attention to your posts, but you have to keep going.
“I just like to write what comes into my head at the time.”
Unmarried Ruth, who follows more than 15,000 people including Stephen Fry, Richard Osman and Beyonce Knowles, added: “I’m a firm believer that in HR, as in life, you’ve got to have goal – and now I’m going all out for 52,000 unanswered posts.”
According to X the current record holder for ignored messages is management consultant Donald K Baskett of Moosejaw, Illinois, who clocked up a whopping 596,244 over a three year period before switching to Donald Trump's Truth Social platform in June.
